What an amazing first week we had!! We’re settling into our routines, and laying the foundation for a busy year ahead. I absolutely LOVE this class already!!
This week we met Buddy Bear, our class Teddy Bear, who is always getting into mischief. He likes to make messes and to hide important learning materials (right when we need them). He vanished for a bit on Thursday, and while searching for him, we discovered he has friends all around QAE that he likes to visit. We are going to need to keep an extra close watch on Buddy Bear this year, and students will need to babysit him over the weekend to help keep him out of trouble!
One area we have already been working hard on is writing. Our first writing unit is called “Small Moments”. In this unit we will write about true moments that have happened to us. In order to help us generate ideas and inspire us, we will decorate our writing folders with pictures of events from our lives. This week, please spend some time gathering 8-10 photos to use. These photos could be of birthdays, trips, first day of school or even that time your child built a really cool castle out of Legos and had to have a picture of it! Please do not send pictures of products like Minecraft/Starwars etc… Please send these photos in a Ziploc baggie labeled with your child’s name on it by Monday, September 15th. Parent volunteers will laminate the pictures on our folders next week, please let me know if you can/want to help.
Here's to another great week!
